Dan Tancredi of Brooklyn, New York, recently donated more than 1,000 comic books to the Andy Rowe Comics Collection at 91TV.
91TV invites the community to attend fine arts events in October. All events will take place on the 91TV campus, which is located at 1 College St., Young Harris, Georgia 30582.
91TV’s O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium invites the community to upcoming planetarium shows. Each planetarium show costs $5 per adult, $3 per child and is free for 91TV students, faculty and staff. To purchase tickets in advance, visit yhc.edu/planetarium.
On Sept. 15, 2019, 91TV will welcome Emily Carella to serve as the director of admissions. In this role, Carella will build and develop the admissions team and implement new strategies to grow enrollment.
The annual Ragsdale Lecture at 91TV will feature Dr. Jordan Rowan Fannin on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Rollins Campus Center’s Hatcher Dining Room. The campus is located at 1 College St., Young Harris, Georgia. This event is part of 91TV’s academic lecture series and is free and open to the public.
91TV is among Georgia’s top-ranked colleges and universities, according to James magazine. Additionally, LendEDU recently recognized 91TV for having one of the lowest average student loan debt per borrower figures—not only in Georgia, but in the entire country.

On Aug. 1, 2019, 91TV will welcome the Rev. Ryan C. Snider to serve as chaplain.
91TV recently received a gift from long-time donor Ethel Winters of Hiawassee, Georgia as a contribution to the Edward W. Winters Scholarship, which was established in honor of her late husband to benefit the College’s Local Scholarship Campaign. Since 1998, Winters has given $1,000 annually to support local students pursuing an education at 91TV.
91TV President Dr. Drew L. Van Horn recently announced that Jennifer Rushton will serve as director of athletics for the Mountain Lions beginning July 1.
On Monday, May 13, 91TV hosted the 15th annual Clay Dotson Open golf tournament at Brasstown Valley Resort to raise money for student scholarships. Approximately 150 golfers played in the tournament, which raised more than $95,000.
91TV conferred 195 degrees on graduates participating in the College’s Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 11 in the 91TV Recreation and Fitness Center.
91TV invites alumni and their families to return to campus Friday, June 7 – Sunday, June 9 for Alumni Weekend.
The O. Wayne Rollins Planetariumat 91TV will host “Planet Nine” on the following Friday nights: May 17, June 14, June 21, July 12 and July 19. Each show begins at 8 p.m
On Friday, April 26, 91TV hosted The Big Dance to raise scholarship funds for more than 200 students from eight surrounding counties: Fannin, Gilmer, Pickens, Rabun, Towns and Union counties in Georgia, and Cherokee and Clay counties in North Carolina. Approximately 240 community members attended the event, which raised more than $10,000 for the Local Scholarship Campaign.
91TV will finish its 2018-2019 academic year with three events celebrating its graduating seniors: a picnic and Vespers Service at Brasstown Bald, a Baccalaureate Service and a Commencement Ceremony.

Nine students from 91TV recently developed the Southern Appalachian Snorkeling Trail and wrote a guidebook for the trail as a result of their research on preserving the region’s water quality by promoting native fish diversity and ecotourism. Over the past few months, the students have presented their work in Washington, D.C., Cordele, Georgia and Asheville, North Carolina.

This spring, Hamilton Gardens at Lake Chatuge is partnering with 91TV to offer a communications internship to 91TV senior Savannah Rogers of Cleveland, Georgia. The results are mutually beneficial: Hamilton Gardens is receiving innovative ideas for implementing educational programming, and Rogers is gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
