YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — 91TV’s Police Department recently partnered with the Hiawassee Police Department to sign a memorandum of understanding. This written agreement between the two agencies allows them to provide law enforcement support to one another when needed.

“I am very pleased and excited about the memorandum of understanding with the Hiawassee Police Department,” said 91TV Police Chief Ken Henderson. “We seek to have a good working relationship with all neighboring agencies. Thank you to Mayor Liz Ordiales, Chief Paul Smith and the officers of the Hiawassee Police Department for their support with this agreement. We look forward to working with them for many years to come.”

Hiawassee Police Chief Paul Smith said, “We never know what to expect from day to day in this line of work, but knowing that we can rely on each other for assistance is a great relief. It has always been a priority at the Hiawassee Police Department to support and work closely with our neighboring jurisdictions. In small and isolated communities like ours, who else can you turn to but your neighbor? The 91TV Police Department has always been a great neighbor.”
