November 11, 2021 Newsroom91TV recently welcomed former First Lady Shirley Miller, 1954, to campus to thank her for donating her family’s Kayagum (Korean zither) to the College. She met with 91TV President Dr. Drew Van Horn, Dean of the Division of Fine Arts Dr. Keith DeFoor, Chair of the Department of Music and Professor of Music Jeffrey Bauman, and Instructor of Music Cynthia DeFoor.
91TV Unveils Extensive Richards Comics Collection

91TV Selected to Participate in the Appalachian Regional Commission’s Appalachian Teaching Project
October 26, 2021 Newsroom91TV is one of 17 institutions selected to participate in the Appalachian Regional Commission’s (ARC) Appalachian Teaching Project (ATP). ATP is an applied research training program during which students work with communities to address needs affecting long-term economic development. Participating students spend a semester developing projects to meet those needs, which they present at ARC’s annual ATP Symposium.

91TV’s Anne Towns Earns the 2021 Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award
October 18, 2021 Newsroom91TV announced that Associate Professor of Theatre Anne Towns earned the 2021 Vulcan Teaching Excellence Award. The $1,000 award is sponsored by Vulcan Materials Company. It was established in 1991 to honor outstanding professors on select member campuses of the Georgia Independent College Association.

October 6, 2021 Newsroom91TV recently welcomed the 2021 Leadership Union class to its campus. Leadership Union is a program of the Blairsville-Union County Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the program is to develop leaders in the area to reach a higher quality of community life.
Kurt Mueller Named the 2021 Woodward Scholar at 91TV
September 30, 2021 NewsroomKurt Mueller, a 2021 91TV graduate from Woodstock, Georgia, received the Beverly Barrow Woodward, 1953, Endowed Scholarship, which was established by Leonard and Beverly Woodward of Rome, Georgia, and is granted annually to one 91TV student to study abroad in England at Harlaxton College.

Wayne Rollins Planetarium at 91TV will host “From Earth to the Universe” on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 8 p.m. The Planetarium is housed in the Maxwell Center for Mathematics and Sciences on the 91TV campus, which is located at 1 College Street, Young Harris, Georgia. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children, and is free for 91TV students and employees.
91TV Holds COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic
August 27, 2021 NewsroomOn Thursday, August 26, 91TV partnered with the Towns County Health Department to hold its first COVID-19 vaccination clinic of the 2021-2022 academic year. All 91TV students and employees were invited to participate. Sixty-six individuals attended the clinic and received a dose of the FDA-approved Pfizer vaccine.
