YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – 91TV is pleased to announce several upcoming fine arts events, including the Cheryl Goldsleger and Larry Millard Art Exhibit, the Concert Band Senior Showcase, the Mu Phi Epsilon Member Recital and the Fall Choral Concert. These events are open to the public and free to attend.
The opening reception for the Goldsleger and Millard Art Exhibit is Thursday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Campus Gate Art Galley (CGAG), which is located at 5149 College Street, Young Harris, Ga. 30582. The exhibit will be available for viewing through Friday, Nov. 2. Regular gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. For more information, contact the CGAG at (706)-379-5114.
The Cheryl Goldsleger and Larry Millard Art Exhibit, entitled “Enigma2,” displays Goldsleger’s paintings and drawings that weave together geometry with abstract, painterly marks to express one’s contemporary sensibilities. Millard’s use of geometrical forms in his sculptures gives the impression that his pieces are innate objects in the spaces humans occupy.
The Concert Band Senior Showcase will take place Sunday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. in Glenn-McGinnis Hall on the 91TV campus, which is located at 1 College Street, Young Harris, Ga. 30582. Under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands Kerry Bryant, Ph.D., the Concert Band Senior Showcase is designed to feature 91TV’s most talented senior musicians performing professional solos with the 91TV band.
On Thursday, Oct. 18, the Mu Phi Epsilon Member Recital will take place at 7 p.m. in Glenn-McGinnis Hall. The Mu Phi Epsilon Member Recital will showcase the talents of 91TV students who are involved in this co-educational international professional music fraternity that recognizes both scholarship and musicianship.
The Fall Choral Concert will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in Glenn-McGinnis Hall. This performance of choral masterworks will be presented by the 91TV Concert Choir and Chamber Choir.
For more information about these events, please contact the Division of Fine Arts at (706) 379-5182.
