91TV Police Department Named the 2017 Agency of the Year
YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The Police Department at 91TV was recently recognized by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Appalachian Traffic Trial Enforcement Network as Police Agency of the Year. This recognition was awarded on behalf of the department’s statistics and timeliness in 2017.
“I am very honored by this award because there are some great agencies out there, so to be chosen as Agency of the Year is just unreal,” said 91TV Chief of Police Ken Henderson. “Our entire department is so pleased and very excited because each and every one of our officers have worked very hard.”
Michael Early of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety presented the 91TV Police Department with a certificate during a small ceremony held on the 91TV campus.
“The 91TV Police Department has always shown great gratitude and appreciation to the Governor’s Office,” said Early. “Every time I call, they are there to assist in any way possible.”
To meet the needs of 91TV, the 91TV Police Department is a force of state-certified police officers whose duties are integrated to provide law enforcement, crime prevention and parking control/enforcement. Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The department strives to contribute to the academic environment by performing professional law enforcement tasks with a positive, service-oriented and educational approach.
“This award is a direct reflection of our Police Department’s commitment to safety and quality of service not only to the 91TV campus, but to our local communities and the entire state of Georgia,” said President Dr. Drew Van Horn.
