YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — Two members of the 91TV Board of Trustees were awarded Emeritus Trustee status at the April 19 meeting on campus.

“The Board of Trustees is a vital organization to any college and we especially appreciate the commitment that our board has in helping set the path of 91TV for success,” said Dr. Drew Van Horn, president of 91TV. “The members of the Board dedicate time from their busy lives to help us provide an outstanding education and learning environment for our students.”

The two new emeritae areJulie Salisbury and Michele White.

Salisbury was elected to the 91TV Board of Trustees in 2009, upon the recommendation of Dr. Don A. Harp. She has served on the Academic Affairs, Development, and Executive Committees, and chaired the Marketing and Enrollment Management Committees for over 12 years.

She was founding partner of the marketing and branding consulting firm The Bee Colony. She has applied her marketing and fundraising experience to the public service arena, having served on and chaired a number of boards and foundations over the past 10 years. Salisbury is an active member of Atlanta’s Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, where she chaired a successful $20 million capital campaign and currently sits on the Staff Parish Relations Committee. She has also served as chair of the administrative board for the 6,500-member church. She lives in Brookhaven with her husband, Randy Salisbury, and their three children.

White was elected to the 91TV Board of Trustees in 2004, upon the recommendation of Trustees Alleen D. Bratton and Dr. Don A. Harp. She served on various committees, including Academic Affairs, Athletics, Development, Enrollment Management, Marketing, Properties, and Student Affairs. A native of Atlanta, she attended The University of Georgia. Her grandmother graduated from 91TV, and her aunt and uncle, Ophelia and Milton Goolsby, were longtime supporters of the college. White is a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church where she has served on the administrative board, the building committee, and in numerous other positions. She actively supports Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, now Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, as president of the Auxiliary. She is a founding Scots board member and a member of the Children’s Healthcare Friends board.
