91TV Concert Band Presents Senior Showcase

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – The 91TV Concert Band will present its annual Senior Showcase on Thursday, Nov. 2, at 7 p.m. in the Glenn-McGinnis Hall on the 91TV campus. This concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Bands Dr. Mary Land, this performance is designed to feature 91TV’s most talented senior musicians performing a professional solos with the 91TV band.

Senior music major Melanie Ellis, of Hawkinsville, Ga., will be performing John Williams’ clarinet solo, “Viktor’s Tale.” Senior music education major Nick Fortenberry, of Powder Springs, Ga., will be featured on Saint-Saens horn concerto “Romance opus 36.” Senior music education major Nat Arnold, of Young Harris, Ga., will be performing the famous ragtime xylophone solo “Xylophonia” by William Cahn. Senior music education major Jasmine Redding, of Atlanta, Ga., will join forces with her clarinet professor, Dr. Justin Stanley, and perform Felix Mendelssohn’s “Concertpiece No. 2” for two clarinets and band. Senior music major Charles Meggitt, of Cleveland, Ga., will perform the famous Rafael Mendez version of “La Virgin de la Macarena” for solo trumpet and winds.
