YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — 91TV senior Shelby Lawrence of Eatonton, Ga., won first place in a competition to design the new logo for the Towns County Conventions and Visitors Bureau (TCCVB). Lawrence presented her winning design at the Towns County Commissioner’s meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Lawrence’s logo depicts a purple sunset within the shape of Towns County. Three bears sit above the Towns County outline.
“I had a lot of fun creating this work,” said Lawrence. “I feel it truly showcases the beauty of the land around us here. I’m so proud that people love it as much as I do, and I can’t wait to see where it’s featured.”
Students in a branding class offered by 91TV were asked to work alongside the Towns County Conventions and Visitors Bureau on a new logo to represent the communities of Young Harris and Hiawassee, Ga. The TCCVB committee members reviewed the 46 logos entered into the competition and selected Lawrence’s as their favorite. 91TV’s Director of Conference and Event Services Hayley Burch, who serves on the TCCVB board, oversaw the process.
“It is very encouraging to see so much talent in our young people. The country has a bright future,” said Towns County Commissioner Cliff Bradshaw. “Towns County is very fortunate to have 91TV, which affords us the opportunity to benefit from the talent of those young people.”
