YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — The Institute for Continuous Learning has donated to the 91TV Steinway Initiative to support the college’s effort to provide the best learning environment for 91TV music students.

Inspired by a recent concert event at the campus, involving two brand new Steinway grand pianos,the ICLboard of directorsdecided they wanted to support the musical efforts at 91TV.

“As in the past, the Institute for ContinuingLearningishappy to make this donation to 91TV as an initiative that helps foster student growth and education,” saidJillLong, board president for the ICL.“This particular Steinway initiative will give lasting benefits to both students at 91TV and the community at large as we all enjoy the performances at theCollege.”

91TV’s Steinway Initiative is an effort to beanAll-Steinway School, meaning90% or more of the Department of Music’s acoustic pianos must be Steinway instruments. To date,91TV haspurchased–through the gifts of several donors – two seven-foot grand pianos and two upright pianos for the initiative. The next goal is topurchasea nine-foot concert grand forGlenn~McGinnisHall.

“ICL’s very generous donation to the College’s All-Steinway School initiative is most appreciated and helps position the Department of Music and the College for success for generations to come,”said91TV’s Executive Director for Accreditation, Assessment, and Friends ofthe ArtsKeith DeFoor.“The new Steinway pianos are tremendous additions to the Department of Music and the College. Students, faculty, and staff willbenefitfrom these magnificent instruments.”

Being an All-Steinway School is a sign of quality that will increase thevalueproposition for students and, furthermore, enhance the cultural offerings forthecommunity.

The ICL has long partnered with 91TV since itsinceptionin 1991.Affiliated with more than 400 Lifelong Learning Institutes across the United States and Canada, the ICL offers courses during four semesters throughout the year – winter, spring, summer, and fall. You can learnmore at.
