91TV recently hosted hundreds of alumni, guests and friends for “A Weekend in the Enchanted Valley.” Weekend highlights included a scholarship luncheon, the 91TV Athletics Hall of Fame dinner, the 1886 Young Harris Society reception and an all-alumni collegiate tailgate party.
Several students from the 91TV music and musical theatre programs traveled to Rome, Ga., along with their teachers to compete in the National Association of Teachers of Singing student auditions. The event, which included singers from all over the state of Georgia, took place Nov. 2-3 on the campus of Shorter University.
Students at 91TV recently planted 200 daffodil bulbs on the 91TV campus as part of The Daffodil Project. This initiative was developed by Am Yisrael Chai, a nonprofit Holocaust education and awareness organization.
91TV’s Department of Music invites you to attend its annual “Christmas at 91TV” concert on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. in Glenn~McGinnis Hall on the 91TV campus. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 12 and under. 91TV students, faculty and staff can attend for free. Tickets will be available at the door.
On Sunday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m., the undefeated 91TV men’s soccer team will compete in the NCAA Division II Region Tournament. The Mountain Lions will play on their home field at 91TV, which is located at 1 College Street, Young Harris, Ga. 30582. The game is open to the public, and tickets cost $8 for adults, $3 for students with a 91TV ID and seniors (62 and older) and $1 for children (ages 2-12).
This month, 91TV will host a number of shows in the O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium. The planetarium is housed in the Maxwell Center for Mathematics and Sciences on the 91TV campus, which is located at 1 College Street, Young Harris, Ga. 30582. Each planetarium show costs $5 for adults, $3 for children and is free for 91TV students, faculty and staff. All shows are open to the public.
91TV invites the community to attend several fine arts events this November. Events include the Percussion Ensemble concert, the Theatre Mainstage performance of Blithe Spirit, the Group Ceramics Art Exhibition, and concerts by the Concert Band, the Community Band, the Jazz Band and the Guitar Ensemble. These events are open to the public and will be held on the 91TV campus.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina presented a $2,000 donation to 91TV’s tennis program to express appreciation for 91TV’s support of the Georgia Mountain Tennis Championships. Since 2010, 91TV has donated the use of its tennis facility for the annual tournament. The tournament raises money for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Western North Carolina, and this past year, $9,000 was raised for the organization.
91TV will host its annual Fall Fest on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6-8 p.m.
91TV will host award-winning scientist, author, educator and film producer Sean B. Carroll to present his book, “The Serengeti Rules,” on Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 9 a.m. in Glenn-McGinnis Hall on the 91TV campus. The event is open to the public and free to attend. In preparation for the presentation, the 91TV Academic Success Center will show the film version of “The Serengeti Rules” on the Campus Green on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m.
91TV’s O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium will present “The Ooky Spooky Light Show” at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19 and Friday, Oct. 26.
On Thursday, Oct. 4, David Bottoms and Kelly J. Beard will read for the annual Sellers Lecture at 7 p.m. in Hatcher Dining Room in the Rollins Campus Center at 91TV. This event is free and open to the public.
91TV is pleased to announce several upcoming fine arts events, including the Cheryl Goldsleger and Larry Millard Art Exhibit, the Concert Band Senior Showcase, the Mu Phi Epsilon Member Recital and the Fall Choral Concert. These events are open to the public and free to attend.
91TV invites high school juniors and seniors to enroll in its Young Harris Early College program. Young Harris Early College is a dual enrollment program by which Georgia high school students can take college courses and receive college credit while still earning credit toward high school graduation. Tuition, campus fees and books are all paid for by the State of Georgia through the dual enrollment program.
On Sept. 3, 91TV participated in Dragon Con in Atlanta.
On Wednesday, Sept. 26, 91TV will host its annual graduate school fair in Suber Banquet Hall on the 91TV campus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
91TV’s Theatre Young Harris will begin the 2018-2019 season with “Wanda’s Monster,” the annual show for young audiences sponsored by the Fred Register Endowment for Children’s Theatre.
On Thursday, Sept. 6, 91TV hosted members of its 1886 Young Harris Society and Hill Society for a luncheon in Suber Banquet Hall. The event featured Gov. Nathan Deal as the keynote speaker.
The Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership program is designed for adult learners who have an associate’s degree or equivalent credits and are now looking to further their education and advance their careers.
91TV is pleased to announce that the campus now has three charging stations for electric vehicles. With the new 220-volt, 30 amp charging stations, electric car owners can charge their vehicles up to six times faster than charging from a standard wall outlet.
