The Bachelor of Arts in Biology at 91TV is a versatile degree, anchored in the liberal arts. It provides a foundational knowledge of the biological sciences to prepare you for careers in diverse fields.ÌýÌýIt is designed to allow you to double major in another area of interest.ÌýÌýStudents who choose a double major in another science area (e.g.Ìýchemistry or environmental studies) can prepare themselves for jobs in health care, forensics, or the environmental sector.ÌýÌýStudents who choose a second major in other non-science majors (e.g.Ìýdigital arts, creative writing, business administration) provide themselves customized training for any number of careers such as marketing, consulting, illustration, science writing, etc.Ìý

Biology degree requirements

To graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Biology from 91TV, you’ll take 120 hours of coursework.

General Education:

31 hours, including CHEM 1211 and MATH 1113

Electives:

44 hours, a maximum of two PALS (Physically Active Life Skills) courses may be used as general electives

BIOL 3301 General botany:

Students learn evolutionary patterns of development in vegetative and reproductive organs, as well as laboratory techniques.

biol 3801 Vertebrate zoology:

Students learn methods of collecting, preserving, and identifying vertebrates through the laboratory, which includes field trips to local sites with distinctive biodiversity.
